Postgraduate taught students have rated their University of Staffordshire experience higher than ever
University is ranked 6th in the UK in the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES)
These results show real, measurable progress for our postgraduate students, and climbing 39 places in a single year is a significant achievement for the whole university.
University of Staffordshire has recorded its best ever performance in the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES), climbing 39 places to rank 6th in the UK, up from 45th in 2025.
The university’s overall positivity rating rose by 6.6 percentage points to 92.7%, with improvements recorded across all 12 thematic areas measured by the national survey. The biggest gains came in Welfare Resources and Facilities, up 7.9 percentage points, Organisation, up 7.1 percentage points, and Support, up 6.1 percentage points.
At subject level, University of Staffordshire ranked 1st in the sector for Business and Management, with postgraduate students reporting 100% satisfaction overall. Psychology had the biggest lead over the sector benchmark of any subject, scoring 14.1 percentage points above average and placing 3rd nationally.
Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Raheel Nawaz said the results reflected sustained work across the university to improve the postgraduate experience.
“These results show real, measurable progress for our postgraduate students, and climbing 39 places in a single year is a significant achievement for the whole university,” said Professor Nawaz.

The result comes hot on the heels of the university’s National Student Survey success, where it was ranked 7th in the UK for overall student positivity.
