The annual tuition fee for full-time undergraduate students in 2026/27 is £9,535

General information

New and continuing students will pay the maximum permitted fee, set by the UK Government.

Part-time tuition fees will be calculated on the full-time fee, proportional to the number of credits you take each year (referred to as study intensity).
Placement year fees will be calculated at no more than 20% of the standard tuition fee.

Part-time tuition fees

Part-time tuition fees will be calculated on the full-time fee, proportional to the number of credits you take each year. For example, studying 30 credits compared to 120 credits for a full-time student equates to 25% study intensity.

Most of our part time courses are designed for at least 25% study intensity, making them eligible for UK government tuition fee loans.

Applying for a second undergraduate degree

Your eligibility for funding may be affected if you've previously studied a higher education course, even if only partially.

Previous Study - If you’ve taken undergraduate-level courses (Level 4 or 5) before, even without completing them, you may not receive full funding, meaning you might need to cover some or all fees yourself.
Equivalent and Lower Qualifications (ELQ) - If your new course is at the same or lower level as a qualification you already hold, you may not qualify for tuition or maintenance loans.

Exceptions apply for nursing, midwifery, and allied health profession courses, which are eligible for additional UK government loans.

Textbooks and printing

All essential books are available through the university library, but you may choose to buy your own. You might also need to submit hard copies of projects or print supporting documents, which may involve a small cost. Tech

A laptop or personal computer will be essential for your studies, and depending on your course, you might choose to purchase additional equipment, like cameras, along with optional insurance.

Software

We offer free access to a wide range of software for your studies. If you need additional software not provided, plan to budget for those costs. Explore our software resources and IT support to get started.

Specialist clothing and materials

Depending on your course or placement, you may need to purchase items like overalls, lab coats, canvases, or textiles to complete your projects. Costs vary based on your choices. Check your course page and explore our budgeting resources to prepare for these expenses.

Trips and travel

Some courses may offer optional trips to enrich your learning experience. While the university covers costs for required trips, optional trips may involve personal expenses. We recommend planning a budget to decide which ones you’d like to attend.

Study intensity explained

Part time study lets you balance your degree with work or other life commitments. Study intensity measures how much of your course you study each year compared to full-time. For example, full-time students typically take 120 credits/year, so 30 credits/year would be equivalent to 25% study intensity.

Fee increases

Undergraduate tuition fees are agreed subject to UK government policy and parliamentary regulation.
The University reserves the right to charge the maximum regulated fee. To reflect increased costs of delivery and maintain a high-quality student experience, the University may therefore increase fees up to any increased maximum amount permitted by the UK Government by law or government policy, both:
(a) before you enroll as a student in your first year; and

(b) in the second and subsequent years of your course.
The University will notify you of any increase in fees as early as possible and before you progress to the next year of your course.
