As an Educational Developer, I am committed to fostering innovative and effective approaches to teaching and learning. My work centres on understanding the pedagogic needs of colleagues and co-creating pathways for professional growth, all with the goal of delivering a high-quality, inclusive learning experience for every University of Staffordshire student. I’m passionate about cultivating an environment where educators don’t just develop—they thrive.
By introducing new perspectives on the education system and championing evidence-based pedagogical strategies, I aim to be a critical friend—someone who encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and reflective practice. I support colleagues in interrogating, defending, and evolving their teaching through theory-informed practice. Currently, I serve as the Programme Lead for the Staffordshire Route to Fellowship, where I develop resources and guidance, deliver workshops, coordinate reviewers and mentors, and provide one-to-one mentoring. I also lead the International Student Pedagogy Project, which supports staff working with international learners through a community of practice and a dedicated toolkit promoting inclusive and innovative teaching.
My journey in Higher Education has spanned several institutions. I began at the University of Nottingham in Student Recruitment, connecting prospective students with academic staff. I then joined Nottingham Trent University’s Educational Research and Evaluation Team, contributing to curriculum design and initiatives to reduce attainment disparities. Most recently, I served as Quality Manager for Apprenticeships at the University.
