Jacqueline Jouannet

I have been working as a psychotherapeutic counsellor for 18 years. I am also a supervisor and an EMDR therapist.

Much of my work has been with young people aged 11-18 in educational settings. This has enabled me to develop expertise in working alongside educational professionals, in an advisory and supervisory capacity. I have a particular interest in supervising psychotherapists and counsellors who work with children, young people and adults in schools and colleges.

I am an integrative practitioner and would describe my approach as humanistic, existential and relationally focused. I also have a particular interest in Gestalt group psychotherapy and group process more widely which includes running person-centred encounter group.

I have interest in creative approaches to therapy and supervision, including the use of poetry, art and sand tray to facilitate deeper exploration of unconscious processes

Developing research interests include midlife transitions, creative arts in supervision and the experiences of siblings of people with a diagnosis of schizophrenia.
