Ian Jenkinson

Ian is a chartered engineer who has worked at every level of local government from trainee technician to Chief Executive.

In Staffordshire he delivered regeneration programmes including a local Neighbourhood Management Pathfinder, the county Children’s Safeguarding Board, a Crime and Disorder Partnership, the Stoke and Staffordshire Local Enterprise Partnership and the Local Pensions Board.

Ian retired from full-time employment to become a Professional Reviewer for the Institution of Civil Engineers, editor of ‘Municipal Engineer’ and a member of the ‘Expert Panel’ for sustainability and urban engineering where he contributed to several ‘State of the Nation Report’ on essential infrastructure. He also reviewed entries for the CMI ‘Management Book of the Year’ competition.

He is currently an external Advisor to SWM the regional centre for sustainability, assesses engineers for their final professional qualification with ICE & IMechE and is a Liaison Officer for the Engineering Council. In his spare time, he sails, cycles and walks.
