Jo Nixon

Professional Support Services Staff Governor

As a Transformation Manager in Corporate Services, Jo leads a team of Project Managers to deliver impactful transformation initiatives—ensuring each project aligns with the University’s priorities and creates lasting value.

Jo’s journey began in the private sector before joining University of Staffordshire in 2004 as an Administrator working with schools and colleges. Through organising events and engaging with young people to raise aspirations for higher education, Jo discovered her passion for project and change management. She went on to earn a degree in Project Management in 2008, followed by Leadership & Management qualifications in 2010 and professional practitioner certificates in Prince2 and Agile Project Management.

Jo is passionate about turning ideas into tangible outcomes that enhance both the student and staff experience. She thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and enjoys collaborating with colleagues across the education sector. With a strong commitment to continuous improvement and a deep understanding of the University, she is committed to helping the University evolve and grow.

Outside of work, Jo lives with her daughter and their boxer dog, Frank. She enjoys long walks, staying active through fitness, and spending quality time with friends and family.
