Course content

In your first year, you’ll explore the fundamentals of computer science, programming and financial technologies, giving you the foundations to build your expertise. You will engage in practical and theoretical sessions that will underpin your understanding of the industry, while enabling you the skills in computer science you need to create, adapt and perfect FinTech practice.

In your second year you’ll be delving deeper into the world of FinTech, using your foundational knowledge and a theoretical and practical approach to application and software problem solving. During this part of your course you will tackle situations individually, as part of wider teams, and even in work experience situations, while developing essential research and data collection skills to utilise in real-world environments.

In the final year of your course you will be developing the FinTech expertise you need to become confident in your future career. You will have the ability to demonstrate you learned knowledge of issues within the industry to an ethical and legal standpoint, considering both commercial private uses of technology. You’ll also be introduced to more advanced data sets and have the ability to solve complex problems and ideas, presented within simulated environments. During the final part of your course, you will develop a portfolio of relevant work that will build your profile, ready for a career in FinTech after you graduate.

UK and Channel Island students: This tuition fee is agreed subject to UK government policy and parliamentary regulation. If the UK government passes appropriate legislation, the fee for subsequent years of study may increase in each academic year. But this increase will not exceed the rate of inflation as measured by RPIX**. Any change in fees will apply to both new and continuing students.
